On commence par repr\u00e9senter un triangle rectangle dont les c\u00f4t\u00e9s de l&rsquo;angle droit mesurent 1 cm de longueur (plus petit triangle violet sur la photo). Par application de la propri\u00e9t\u00e9 de Pythagore son hypot\u00e9nuse\u00a0a une longueur \u00e9gale \u00e0 la racine de 2 cm.<\/p>\n<p>On poursuit la construction par un nouveau triangle rectangle dont un des c\u00f4t\u00e9s de l&rsquo;angle droit est l&rsquo;hypot\u00e9nuse du triangle pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent, l&rsquo;autre c\u00f4t\u00e9 de l&rsquo;angle droit ayant une longueur de 1 cm (on obtient le petit triangle jaune).
